Danland, directed by Alexandra Berger, is a tragic/comic documentary film about an amateur porn producer who in spite of his promiscuous personality longs for the love and intimacy of a committed relationship. The soundtrack by Michael Montes follows Dan on his roller coaster adventures in bittersweet, raucous and deeply tongue-in-cheek fashions.

Danland premieres tonight at the 2012 Slamdance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

“A lively, explicit portrait of nice guy pornographer Dan Leal and his ill-fated attempts at real intimacy.”
- The Hollywood Reporter

“Immensely watchable, Danland is a great slice of life doc about a regular dude and his not-so-regular profession.”
- Film School Rejects

“One of the highlights of this year’s Slamdance Film Festival…”
- Indiewire.com

“Berger approaches her subject with impressive perspective and sensitivity, digging for the humanity beneath the glossy, constructed characters.”
- Hammer To Nail

Michael’s soundtrack can be purchased at iTunes, Amazon, and CDBaby

Sacred Noise and Trollbäck + Co. helped AICP kick off the 2011 Conference with a digital installation featuring real-time footage of attendees as they enter The Times Center in New York. The attendee arrival footage was manipulated to appear as silhouetted figures trailing a CMYK array. The footage was then cut into manageable loops of video and arranged in a shifting grid; the more frenetic the movement on the looped footage, the more active the audio track, as tones and sounds created by Michael Montes are triggered to compose a soundtrack on the fly.
